Junior Legal Pad

Hello!  Today I'm posting a picture of an altered Junior Legal Pad.  I love these!  It turns something very practical into something fun.
The Designer Series Paper is Springtime Vintage and I believe it is from last years Occasions Mini.  I  used the  Language of Friendship stamp set and the Bird Builder punch to decorate the front.  The base of the cover is 8 x 5 inches, the larger piece of DSP is 7 x 4 3/4 inches, the strip at the top is 5 x 2 inches.
I totally love the Labels Collection Framelits Die.  It's hard to see but I used Dimensionals to mount the bird and wing.

Stamp Set:  Language of Friendship
Paper:  Springtime Vintage DSP, Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke
Ink:  Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke
Punches:  Scallop Edge Border, Bird Builder
Extras: Labels Collection Framelit Die, Dimensionals, sponge (for inking the edges), Sticky Strip

Thanks for stopping by today!

Vintage Vogue Thank You

Hello!  It's a dreary Monday in Southeast Wisconsin today.  A good day to stay inside and stamp.

I have a funny story to tell you about a card we made at my Workshop this past Saturday.  The card we made was similar to today's, with the First Edition DSP where we distressed the edges and curled one corner back.  My mom and aunt did not make the cards (for some strange reason they preferred talking in the other room to stamping with the rest of us, I know, can you believe it???!!!) anyway, when they looked at our beautiful creations they both kept trying to get the corner to stick down and said I needed adhesive on it.  We all laughed and explained that it was supposed to look like that!!  It was such a fun day stamping with my best friend and cousins.  Thank you girls for coming.
I used the Vintage Vogue and Sincere Salutations stamp sets to make this card.  The pink flowers were cut out by hand and I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch out the little green centers.
Here's a close up of the distressed edges and a folded back corner.  I think I like this look even better than the rolled back corner from this past weekend.  I'm sure it'll mail better too.

Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, First Edition DSP, Whisper White
Ink:  Old Olive, Rich Razzelberry, Pretty in Pink
Punch:  Decorative Label
Extras:  Cutter Kit (distressing tool), Crop-A-Dile, Scissors, Dimensionals

Season of Friendship

Hello!  Wow, this week has gone really fast.  I have been getting ready for a workshop I'm having tomorrow.  I'm taking it on the road so I have been triple checking to make sure I have everything packed.  :)  Today's card is made with the Season of Friendship stamp set.  After I stamped the tree and leaves I added some flowers I punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch and then ran it through the Big Shot with my Square Lattice embossing folder.  I'm so pleased with how it turned out!!
In the center of each flower I placed a Basic Pearl.  The "thank you" is mounted with Dimensionals.
Here's a close up.  Don't you just love the texture?

Stamp set:  Season of Friendship

Sale-A-Bration Begins Today!

Hi!  I'm so excited, today is the first day of Stampin' Up! sale-a-bration.  This means that for every $50.00 you spend (before shipping and taxes) you get to pick one item from the sale-a-bratoin catalog for FREE!  Click here to view the sale-a-bration catalog.

In looking back over my posts I discovered that I did not have one masculine card.  :(  So today I made a card for a boy.  I used one of the Maze Games that can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog, these are so fun.  Not a very fancy card, but I think they'll be so busy playing with it that they won't even notice!
I made a frame to hold the maze in place so it could be removed from the card to play with.  It looked a little plain so I added a couple of birthday cakes.

The mazes are sold in a pack of four for $2.50.

Paper:  Pacific Point, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Set:  Happiest Birthday Wishes, Gnome Sweet Gnome (birthday cake)
Extras:  Mini Brads, Maze Game, Stripes Embossing Folder

Another Apothecary Art Birthday Card

Hello!  Today I'm sharing with you the card that I made for my mom for her birthday, which happens to be today.  Happy Birthday Mom!  I love this card.  It is made using the new Labels Collection Framelits Die and the Apothecary Art stamp set.  These are both from the same sets that I used on my last post, only they are one size larger.
I used two pearls and Dimensionals on the stamped image to give the card a 3D look.

Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry DSP
Stamp Set:  Apothecary Art
Extras:  Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Basic Pearls, sponge, Dimensionals

Occasions Mini Catalog.  The Framed Tulips Embossing Folder was used on the card base.
Here's a close up that shows the Basic Pearls used to add some elegance to the card.  I colored the flowers with a blender pen and watercolor crayons.

Gnome Mini Cards

Hello!  Well the cold weather has arrived in Wisconsin!  Today's post is Gnomes again (love these guys), this time I made two 3 x 3 cards.
The Designer Seriers Paper I used is from the sale-a-bration catalog that begins on Tuesday the 24th.  I wanted these guys to be bright and cheery so I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color them.   The girl's card has sponging around the edges, I like that added touch.

Stamp Set:  Gnome Sweet Gnome
Paper:  Whisper White, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Punch:  Word Window
Extras:  Stampin' Write Markers, Sponge, glue dots

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Stay warm!

Fabulous Florets

Hello!  It's snowing outside right now, but when I started this card yesterday it was quite nice out and it put me in the tropical mood.  I really, really like this stamp set and thought it was time to dust it off and use it! I have been seeing a lot of these Tri-fold Shutter cards lately and wanted to try one.  It really is very easy to do, four scores and two cuts with your trimmer and you're good to go.
Here's the front of the card when it is closed.
Here it is opened, isn't it a fun card?
Here is another angle.  I did not put a sentiment inside yet since I'm not sure who or what I'll use this card for.   Did you notice that I used buttons and ribbon?  Not bad for a clean and simple girl.  LOL Doesn't it make you want to book a spring trip to some place warm with a nice beach?

Paper:  Rose Red, Whisper White, Old Olive.
Stamp Set:  Fabulous Florets
Ink:  Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Rose Red
Punches:  2 1/2", 2 1/4"(EK Success), 1 3/4" circle punches
Extras:  Dimensionals, Old Olive Ribbon, Rose Red buttons. Melon Mambo Stampin' Emboss Powder,
             Paper Trimmer

Field Flowers

Hello!  Happy weekend!  I'm looking forward to getting out of the house today, the ice has kept me inside for two days and I'm going stir crazy!  We have errands to run and then we will visit my mother-in-law to celebrate her birthday.
This card is made with the Field Flowers stamp set.  After stamping I ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I love the texture.  I also used one of my favorite punches - Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border.  Love this punch!  I'm not a big ribbon person and this way I always have the color I need to add a little something extra to my card.

Stamp Set:  Field Flowers
Punches:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Ink:  Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry

Posy Punch

Good afternoon!  As I'm looking out my window all I can see is snow!  This will be our first accumulating snowfall this season.

The card I'm posting today is bright and cheery and took only a few minutes to make.  I used the Posy Punch stamp set again, I've had this set since last summer but hadn't used it until recently and can't seem to stop. :)  These colors really look great together, even my son liked this card.  (He wouldn't want me telling you, but...whenever I'm stuck on colors I go to him and he helps me decide which ones look best together.  He does have a good eye!)  It's hard to see, but the punched circle and flowers are raised up with Dimensionals.

Posy Punch Thank You

Hello!  Today the doctor told me that I needed to take 6 more weeks off before I could return to work.  I'm doing pretty good, but did not realize how hard it would be to move my arm six weeks after my surgery.  My PT gave me movements to do yesterday and even though it hurts, I'm moving my arm pretty well with assistance.  Stamping is still hard to do because for some reason I seem to need two arms to do it!  After this next six weeks I can push, pull and lift all I want so it will be much easier to stamp.  I can hardly wait!  :)

I needed to make a couple of thank you cards for co-workers and wanted to try something different.  These are what I came up with.  I love them!  Since I was hand delivering them I did not need an envelope so I used a retired punch for the closure.  The card stock measured 6 1/2" x3" which I scored at 3" on the long side.  Folded they measure 3" x 3 1/2".

Stamp set:  Posy Punch (a hostess set)
Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Whisper White, So Saffron
Ink:  Rose Red, So Saffron
Punches:  1" & 3/4" circle, Fancy Flower
Embossing folder:  Stripes

Valentine Pouch

On Thursday I said I would show you something else to make with the Petal Cone Die.  Here it is...

We are going to be making this at my Make & Take Workshop on Jan. 28th.  It can be filled with candy, cookies or anything else for a Valentine treat.  I stamped the Regal Rose paper with VersaMark ink pad, it gives it a softer look than what you would get if you used Regal Rose ink.  The larger heart was cut out by hand, I like the curvy edges.

Paper:  Regal Rose, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink:  Basic Black, Regal Rose, VersaMark
Stamp sets:  You Are Loved, Delightful Dozen
Extra:  Basic Black Scallop Dots Ribbon, Petal Cone Die, Big Shot

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Take a Spin

I haven't used this stamp set in quite awhile and thought it would be a fun card to make for a 5 year old boy.  The spinners come in a pack of 12 for only$3.95.  They are so much fun to play with, yes I did play with the card for several minutes.  Gotta make sure it spins after all!  :)

Here's a close up.  Usually I color each section a different color, but today I was in a hurry to get this in the mail so I stamped in all in Tempting Turquoise.  The designer series paper is left over from last year, I never seem to be able to use it all up, it's so pretty that I just want to look at it and not use it.  My stamping goal for 2012 is to get over that!

Paper:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
Stamp set:  Take a Spin
Extras:  Game Spinner Hand

Hello!  Today's card was made using the Petal Cone Die.  This die is so very versatile, check back tomorrow to see what else I've made using it.  You'll notice that I also used two embossing folders to add texture to the cone and the ice cream.

Ink:  Crumb Cake (sponged the cone edges) and Regal Rose
Die:  Petal Cone
Embossing folders:  Square Lattice and Perfect Polk Dots

Packed for Baby

Hello!  I made today's card for my cousin, who is the proud father of a new baby boy!  This stamp is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog that starts today and goes through April 30, 2012.  I love this mini!!!!  Tons of new products and beautiful stamp sets.

I haven't used my Button Embosslits Die in a while, (I don't know why because I really like that you can make buttons to match your project and they are flat enough to mail.)  and I thought they'd add a little something extra to this card, especially since they are popped up with dimensionals.   I colored with a blender pen and Stampin' Pastels so the card would have a softer "baby" look to it.  The Wild Wasabi card base was run through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder.

Paper: Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Whisper White
Stamp sets:  Packed for Bay and Family Reunion
Extras:  Stampin' Pastels, Blender pen, Dimensionals, Stripes Embossing Folder, Big Shot
Punch:  Word Window

Happy New Year!

I would like to wish everyone a healthy, Happy New Year filled with peace and joy.  We are finally getting a little snow today in Milwaukee.

Today I'm going to show you the Stampin' Up! perpetual Birthday Calendar (101398 $7.95).  I had one of these years ago and decided to make a new one so I wouldn't have to keep writing birthdays on my new calendar every year.  I'm thinking that I have to add more stamping to January, it looks a little plain  even to me!  Any ideas?
I  added some Crumb Cake mittens and I like it a lot better!
Stamps:  Jolly Bingo Bits
Ink:  Marina Mist, Basic Gray and Crumb Cake

Thank you so much for stopping by.
