Mixed Bunch Birthday Card

Hello!  Today's card is cased from Connie Babbert at Inkspired Treasures.  It is for my niece, Casey, who's birthday is today.  Happy Birthday Casey!  I spend way too much time thinking about what card to make for people, and I am always so pleased when it fits the person well.  Casey has studied dance for years, and like her, this card is graceful and elegant.  I was thrilled with it.
I used two of the stamps from the Mixed Bunch set and the "niece" is from Family Reunion.
Here's the inside of the card.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes set.

Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Family Reunion, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper:  Vanilla, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink:  Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Punch:  Blossoms, Large oval, Scallop Oval
Extras:  Old Olive Button, Big Shot, Snow Burst Embossing Folder

Thank you for looking!

Another Note Pad

Hi!  I hope you are not getting too sick of these 5" x 8" note pads, I just can't stop making them!  I bet you can guess what paper I'll be using too.  That's right...Everyday Enchantment!  I think this DSP has been a favorite of many SU demonstrators and I'm one of them.  Anyway, I've made this for a friend who has just booked a party and since I needed something to post I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone!  Now that I have gone back to work (after my 12 week sick leave) I'm finding it hard to make something to post everyday, so I will most likely be posting less often.  Well, here it is:
This was one of those time when I said, "Oh my gosh, this turned out so pretty!"  I finally used the oval Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I'm sorry I don't remember who I got the idea from to use the Labels Collection Framelits Die to cut out around the oval frame.  (If it is you please let me know.)
Isn't it cool how the Extra-Large Oval Punch fits perfectly inside the embossed area?  A great way to use three of my SU! products and show how well they all work together.  Love it, love it, love it!

Stamp Set:  Fresh Vintage, Sincere Salutations
Paper:  Soft Suede, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Ink:  Soft Suede
Markers:  Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Punches:  Scallop Edge Border, Extra-Large Oval
Extras:  Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits Die, Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing

Matchbox Drawers

Hello!  Today's project is something I've seen several other stampers make, and have been wanting to make one for myself for quite awhile.  Not sure yet what I will put in it, but the possibilities are endless.

First, I made three of the matchboxes with the Bigz XL Die made exclusively for Stampin' Up!   Next I stacked all three of the boxes and wrapped them together with Designer Series Paper.  It is so easy to do and look how cute it is!  One of the flowers from the Boho Blossoms Punch attached with a brad fit perfectly on front of the drawers for handles.

I made the rosette on the top by punching out two of the 1 3/4" scallop circles.  They were scored across to the opposite scallop all the way around the circle.   One cut was made along a score line between two of the scallops to the center of the circle.  I folded the scallops alternating between up and down and then glued the two together.  Boy! That is really hard to explain!  Maybe the picture will help.  I used the Boho Blossoms punch again for the center of the rosette.  Looking at it now it seems too plain, maybe I'll have think of something else to add.

Paper:  Lavender Lace, Springtime Vintage DSP (both retired)
Punches:  1 3/4 Scallop Circle, Boho Blossoms
Extra:  Big Shot, Bigz XL Matchbox Die

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend.

Love and Laughter

Hello!  I've had the Love and Laughter stamp set for quite a few weeks now and finally put it to use.  I stamped and cut out three images of the cake so I could layer them using Dimensionals to make it look like a three tiered cake.  (It looks better in person than here!)  The 5.25" x 4" white layer was made using the Wedding Words wheel and clear embossing powder.  This turned out exactly how I was hoping it would.  Love it when that happens! The Whisper White Organza Ribbon would be a beautiful addition, unfortunately I don't have any.  :(   My next order will definately include some!  It looks so pretty.
I couldn't decide between the Basic Pearls or Rhinestones for the flower centers...then I realized that the Rhinestones were too big, so my decision was made for me!  I really did like the pearls once I got them on there.

Stamp Sets:  Love & Laughter, Wedding Words (wheel)
Paper:  Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink:  Versamark (used with clear embossing powder), Bashful Blue
Extras:  Dimensionals, Basic Pearls

Hello!  We are getting quite a bit of snow this morning in Southeastern Wisconsin.  It looks very pretty right now, but I heard that it will soon be turning into rain later today.

Today's card is another made using the Labels Collection Framelits Die.  The Calypso Coral layer was cut using two different size dies to make a frame and the Vanilla layer was cut with the same small die as the Coral layer so it would fit right inside.
I love how well the Happy Birthday stamp from theHappiest Birthday Wishes goes with Everyday Enchantment DSP.  It was mounted with Dimensionals.  This card was made for my Sister-in Law Louise.  Her birthday was yesterday, Happy Birthday a day late Louise.  I love, love, love this card!

Stamp sets:  Happiest Birthday Wishes, Fresh Vintage Stamp Set
Paper:  Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Calypso Coral
Ink:  Soft Suede
Markers:  Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral
Big Shot:  Labels Collection Framelits Die
Ribbon:  Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral

Hello!  Today I have a little treat bag to show you.  I first saw this posted by Debbie Naylor and then saw several others too.  Not really sure who came up with the idea first, but I love it!  So easy to make and very cute.  It will hold a Ghirardelli chocolate perfectly and I'm sure other candy as well.
Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper is perfect for making these and other gift bags because not only are they beautiful, but very sturdy too!

Everyday Enchantment Patchwork

Hello!  Like many of my fellow stampers, I can't seem to stop using the Everyday Enchantment DSP.  This  beautiful paper is one of free products you can choose from the sale-a-bration catalog with a $50 purchase.
I've seen many stampers use it to make "patchwork" cards and knew I had to give it a try.  I love the way this card turned out!
The 1" square punch is perfect for this. I mounted the squares onto a 5.25 x 4" piece of paper (I did have to trim a bit from each side to make it 4" wide) and then mounted it onto my card base.
Dimensionals were used to "pop up" each layer of the flower.  These paper patterns would make great fabric as well, don't you agree?  I'd love to make a real quilt just like this!

Paper:  Lucky Limeade, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Whisper White
Stamp Set:  Mixed Blossoms
Punches:  Blossom, 1" Square Punch
Extras:  Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Hello!  I got some very exciting news this morning...I was chosen as one of the "Top Three" in last weeks Create With Connie & Mary Challenge!!!  I cannot tell you how excited I am.  Often I get my inspiration from viewing their blog and am so honored that they picked my card.

Their challenge this week is to use the colors Melon Mambo (my favorite), Chocolate Chip and Lucky Limeade.  Love all of these colors.  Here's what I came up with:
I embossed the flowers with Melon Mambo embossing powder using the Mixed Bunch stamp set and then punched them out with the Blossom punch.  The center of the pink flower has a Filigree Brad - really like how this looks and it adds some dimension.  I finally used the newAdorning Accents Edgelits Die.
Two of the inside corners were stamped using Melon Mambo ink.  What a fun challenge this was for me.  I hope you like it too.

Stamp Set:  Mixed Blossom
Paper:  Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Punch:  Blossom
Extras:  Dimensionals, Filigree Brad, Adorning Accents Edgelits Die

Have a wonderful day!

Valentine Treat Tube

Happy Valentine's Day!  Today I made a treat tube that would be perfect for holding Hershey's Kisses or Smarties.  I got this idea from the Stampin' Success magazine.  It was super easy to make and best of all I had all the supplies I needed!

The ends are made with the Fancy Flower punch.  I dug out some very old DSP - Raspberry Tart for the two bands at the ends.

I cut one each of Whisper White and Rose Red with the Full Heart Punch and offset them a bit for my sentiment tag.

Paper:  Rose Red, Regal Rose, Raspberry Tart DSP
Stamp Sets:  Field Flowers, Love & Laughter
Punches:  Fancy Flower, Full Heart, 1/2" Circle
Ink:  Regal Rose, Rose Red
Ribbon:  White 1/4" grosgrain, White Baker's Twine

Saturday Sketch Challenge 242

Hello!  I'm joining the Saturday Sketch Challenge 242 with Stamping 411 for the very first time.  I really like their sketch this week.  I've kept mine clean and simple with a few rhinestones added for a little "bling".
The size of the card stock is 11" x 4.25" and is folded at 5.5".  I used the Stripes embossing folder to give the card some texture and used Dimensionals to pop up my stamped squares.

Stamp Sets:  Fresh Vintage, Vintage Vogue
Paper:  Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Ink:  Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Punches:  1" square, Scallop Square, Decorative Label
Extra:  Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones, Stripes Embossing Folder

Everyday Enchantment Notebook

Hello!  I talked to two friends this week from work and both of them asked if I was doing a lot of crafting while on sick leave.  I replied that I really wasn't doing too much (if I'm lucky I can get a card done in a day).  Since I only have one week left I thought I better get something a little "bigger" done.  So, this morning I decided to make something that I fell in love with while visiting fellow stamper,  Jenny Moor's blog.  She made this beautiful little book and I just knew I  had to CASE it.  What a great idea she had using the Full Heart Punch to make a wonderful 3D flower, and I absolutely loved the patchwork she did with the Everyday Enchantment DSP.  Thanks for the great idea Jenny!
Here's the front cover of my notebook.  I used my Bind-it-All to assemble it.  The hearts are folded in half and glued onto a 1 3/4" circle to make the flower.  I used one of the flowers from the Boho Blossom punch and a brad (from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad pack that is featured in the Sale-A-Bration catalog) for the center.  The Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral ribbon that is tied onto the wire binding is a little hard to see, but it is there!

Here's the inside.  I love making the little pocket folders to store loose notes in.  The size of the notebook is 7 1/4" x 5".  My son has a ton of left over notebooks from school so I cut the paper down to whatever size I need.  This should fit nicely into my tote so I can take notes when I go to Regionals in Milwaukee.

Paper:  Everyday Enchantment DSP, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set:  Fresh Vintage
Punches:  Boho Blossom, Full Heart
Extras:  Bind-it-All (not Stampin' Up!), Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad, Multipurpose Liquid

CCMC188 - Sketch Challenge

Hello!  Today I have another card made with The Open Sea stamp set.  I thought this would work out nice for the Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenge.  It is a simple card, but I am happy with the way it turned out.
Love these two colors together!
I sponged around the ship to soften the edges of the white circle and embossed the brown layer to add some dimension.

Stamp Set:  The Open Sea
Paper:  Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink:  Early Espresso
Punches:  2 1/2" Circle, 1" Square
Extras: White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Stripes Embossing Folder

The Open Sea

I finally got to make a card using the Open Sea stamp set.  I have loved set since it came out in last years Summer Mini, but kept forgetting to order it!  This is a perfect masculine card that can be used for any occasion.  I'm sure I'll be making more of them since we have several male birthdays coming up in our family.
I used my distressing tool to roughen up the edges of the card stock and then sponged them with Soft Suede ink.  Love it, love it.

Stamp set:  The Open Sea
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy
Ink:  Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy
Extras:  Distressing tool, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

Blossom Punch Butterfly

Hello!  When I was visiting Dawn Olchefske's blog the other day I knew that I had to CASE (copy and share everything) her beautiful card.  Here's what I came up with.
Isn't it beautiful!?!  I just love it.  Dawn used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die to make her butterflies, and since I don't have that one, I had to improvise.  Connie Babbert had a great idea on using the Blossom punch to make a butterfly, and I had to CAS that too!
I stamped and punched out two flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and then cut away two opposite petals to make my butterfly.  I used a glue dot to attach the two, then curled up the edges of the top one with my bone folder.  I just love this card!  It's pretty fancy for me and I'm glad I'm spreading my wings!  :) Thank you for the inspiration Dawn!

Stamp sets:  Mixed Bunch, Language of Friendship
Paper:  Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Vanilla
Punches:  Boho Blossom, Blossom
Big Shot:  Tulip Embossing Folder, Labels Collection Framelits Die
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Extras:  Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones, Sponge Dauber

3 x 3 Thank You Cards

Hello!  What a beautiful day we are having in the Milwaukee area today.  After a nice walk with my husband and dog I snuck up to my stamping room to make some thank you cards.

I used the Everyday Enchantment DSP and Ribbon & Brad pack from the sale-a-bration catalog.  I really think these turned out cute and they were fun to make!

Paper:  Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Punches:  1''" Square, Boho Blossom, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8 Circle, Scallop Square, Word Window
Stamp set:  Messages for Mom, Fresh Vintage

I was so excited to get my latest Stampin' Up! order yesterday!!  There were a few colors of card stock and ink pads that I did not have and of course I had to order a few stamp sets.  I finally got The Open Sea...it has been on my wish list for quite awhile and I can't wait to CAS some of my fellow demonstrators beautiful cards I've seen.

Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

February Calendar Page

Hello!  Today I have the February page of my Birthday Calendar to show you.  I used Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso as my colors to decorate it.
Here's a close up of the owl.  Isn't he cute?
Here's a closer look at the bottom.  I used a lot of different punches on this page to add some dimension.
I see I have quite a few birthday cards to make this month, I better get busy!
