Gift Box

Happy Friday!  Today's post is a box I made after I goofed up the measurements while trying to make a drawer box the other day.  Just goes to show that when stamping sometimes mistakes turn out to be good things.
I used the Scallop Trim Border punch on the edges of the top, I really liked the way this turned out!
My Fresh Vintage stamp set and Everyday Enchantment DSP from sale-a-bration are still getting used.
Here's a close up of the top.

Drawer Box

Hi!  Today's post is a favorite of mine.  A couple of years ago I made one of these Drawer Boxes to hold my embossing folders, they fit in it perfectly.  Imagine my horror as I went to add one of the new folders and it didn't fit!!!!  I knew I'd have to do something about that.  :)  I went back to Holly McMillen's tutorial on Splitcoaststampers  and added 3/4" to the width of the drawer.  Now the new, longer embossing folders fit perfectly.

Because I have several folders I needed two drawers, so I stacked one on top of the other.

I have a narrow shelf that I set this on so I don't have room to decorate the top with anything that adds height, but I didn't want to leave it empty either so this is what I ended up doing.  The new Everything Eleanor set is so much fun to work with!

Card Stock:  Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage DSP (retired)
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy
Extras:  Antique Brads, Lace Ribbon (retired), Simply Scored, Labels Collection Framelits, Big Shot

Fabulous Florets Meets Papillon Potpourri

Hello!  Wow, what wonderful weather we are having in SE Wisconsin today.  If only we could get some rain.  I'm having a Make & Take this Friday morning and here is one of the cards we will be making.

I'm using the Elegant Butterfly punch again!  It's hard to believe that until now I haven't been a butterfly fan.  I love the bright colors in this DSP so I thought I'd use the coordinating Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo card stock for the butterflies.

Stamp Sets:  Fabulous Florets, Papillon Potpourri
Card Stock:  Pacific Point, Mambo Melon, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, DSP (retired)
Ink:  Old Olive, Mambo Melon, Daffodil Delight
Extras:  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Basic Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Thank you so very much for stopping by today!

Note Paper Holder

Hello!  I saw this wonderful note paper holder on Stampin' Connection that was made by Ute Pucher who lives in Germany.  I liked hers so much that I had to case it.
Here's mine.  I'm always looking for little scraps of paper so this will come in very handy sitting on my kitchen desk!  I love it when I can make something pretty and useful.  The great thing about this project is that you can decorate it anyway you please.
I'm really using my new Elegant Butterfly punch a lot and I love it with the Basic Pearls added to it.

I'm not sure of the dimensions of the one I saw online, but I knew that I wanted to be able to use just one piece of card stock when I made mine.  Here's what I came up with:
I used a 3" x 12" piece of card stock and scored it at:  1", 4 1/4", 7 1/2" & 10 3/4".  I then turned the paper and scored it at 1/2".  You will need to trim off 1/4" from the right side so both ends measure 1". The base measures 3 3/16" x 3 3/16".  Three of the DSP pieces measure 3" x 2 1/4".  The other two measure 3/4" x 2 1/4".  The one I saw had a couple of layers, which would make it a little sturdier.
Fold all the score lines, cut the 4 score lines up to the 1/2" score line and add Sticky Strip.  I added my DSP pieces before I attached the base and the Lace Ribbon Border, leaves and butterfly after it was put together.  I attached the base one section at a time starting with the center back.  The note paper measures 3" x 3".

I hope these instructions make sense!  If you have any questions just ask.  :)

Card Stock:  Rose Red, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Thoroughly Modern DSP (retired)

Extras:  Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Basic Pearls, Rose Red Buttons (retired), Linen Thread Sticky

Triple Time Stamping

Hello!  Well, the Stampin' Connection website is full of these Tripe Time Stamping cards.  The wonderful Dawn Olchefske shared her card idea with us and we all had to make one too because they are so very pretty!  Thanks again Dawn for the wonderful idea!
I chose to use the new Papillon Potpourri stamp set.  I've never really been a butterfly fan, but this set and matching Elegant Butterfly punch are so pretty that I just had to order them.
Isn't this a lovely card?   I love how the images flow from one layer to the next.  The card base measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"(scored at 4 1/4"), the second Wisteria Wonder layer measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/2", and the smallest Wisteria Wonder layer measures 2 1/4" x 3 1/2".  The largest white layer measures 4" x 5 1/4", the middle white layer measures 3" x 4 1/4", and the smallest white layer measures 2" x 3 1/4".  Temporarily attach the three white pieces of card stock with a little adhesive when you stamp, so the paper doesn't move, and then the images will line up when you put the card together.  You may see gaps in the stamped image, but that is ok, when you layer in the colored card stock it will cover those gaps right up.

Stamp Sets:  Papillon Potpourri, Field Flowers (With Love stamp)
Paper:  Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Ink:  Wisteria Wonder Stampin' Write Marker
Punch:  Elegant Butterfly
Ribbon:  5/8" Organza Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the card.  Go ahead and try one yourself!!!

Last Two Pages

Hi!  Today I have the last two sets of pages from my "Get Organized" book to share.
I love these pages.  They were made using the Blossom and Boho Blossoms punches.  The 1/8" Mini Brads were perfect for holding the flowers together.  All of the inside pages measure 9" x 8 1/2".  I used Sticky Strip to hold all of the pockets in place so I won't have to worry about the book falling apart!
Here are a couple of closeup views.

While the DSP and some of the card stock are retired I did used a couple of current colors...Soft Suede, Rose Red, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.
The final pages hold address labels and stamps.  I had them in the back of my junk drawer and they were always a pain to find.  Now all I have to do is train my husband on the new location!  The flowers were made with the Field Flowers stamp set and the new In Color Primrose Petals, with a center using Soft Suede.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my book.  It was really fun to make and really didn't take too long either.  I may add more pages and decorate it a bit more down the road, but for now it is done.

Thank you for stopping by!

More Get Organized Pages

Hello.  Today I have two more sets of pages for you to view from my "Get Organized" book.
I realized while making this page that I do not have any "food" stamps...mmmm have to do something about that!  I found this "Yum" stamp from a retired set I shoved in a closet!  I punched them out with the Extra-Large Tag punch.  Maybe I'll make some food out of punches and add them later.
I used the Language of Friendship stamp set along with the matching Bird Builder punch on the left page.  I didn't label the top pocket yet.  I have a feeling that it will be used for Misc. coupons.  The truck on the right side was stamped with the Loads of Love stamp set that just retired on May 31st.

That's it for today.  I still have two more pages for you to view tomorrow so stop on by!

Get Organized Pages

Hi!  Today I have a couple of the inside pages of my "Get Organized" book.
We always seem to have gift cards laying around and often I forget where I put them.  Not anymore!  I used the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die for the gift card holders.  Once again I used the Elegant Butterfly punch and Basic Pearls to decorate.  Two of them I ran through the Big Shot with the Chevron and Square Lattice Embossing Folders.
I love pizza so we always have a ton of coupons and menus around so I made special "pizza" pages to hold those things.  I stamped the decorations using the Reason to Smile stamp set.  This is a special set which will be available only in July for only $5.00 when you make a purchase of $50.00 or more in Stampin' Up! products.

That's it for today.  Two more pages tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by.

Get Organized Book

Hello!  The other day I saw a very cute idea on Carrie Sampsel's blog.  She made a book with all kinds of pages to keep you organized.  While I didn't need some of the pages she had, she got me thinking about what I could use.  Mostly I need a way to keep my restaurant/store coupons, invitations, and gift cards organized.  I won't show you all the pages today, but here's the cover.
I used the Blossom, Boho Blossoms and Elegant Butterfly punches along with the Labels Collection Framelits die to decorate the cover.  The small Basic Pearls are perfect for adding some "bling" to the beautiful butterflies!  This Thoroughly Modern  DSP has is quite old and I'm still trying to use it up!  You can really make a lot of pretty things with one pack of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper!!!!
The dimensions of the cover are 9 1/4" x 8 3/4" and the book is held together with 3 1" rings.  (I used my computer to make all of the labels.)

Stop by tomorrow for a look at two more pages!

Dad Wallet

Hello!  Well, things have finally settled down around our house.  The graduation party is over and my son is all registered for college.  Now I finally have some time to stamp!!!!

I made this wallet to hold my husband's gift cards for Father's Day.  I've seen many of these around that are much fancier, but you know me...plain and simple.  As always it looks much better in person than in the photo.
I used Chocolate Chip card stock and stamped "Dad" in Basic Black using the new Morning Post Alphabet set.  The edges of the wallet were sponged in Basic Black ink.

Here's the inside.  (The color looks a little better here!)  The wallet base measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2".  I scored it at 4 1/4" so it would fold easier.  The inside pockets were made with two 4" x 4" squares which were scored at 2 1/2".  Fold the smaller part up to form the bottom pocket.  I used Sticky Strip to attach everything so it would not come apart when I added the gift cards.  The inside edges were also sponged with Basic Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm working on a "Get Organized" book and hopefully I'll have it posted in the next day or two.

Clockworks Birthday Card

Hi!  Well, as promised, today's post is a card I made with the Clockworks stamp set.  This is for my Uncle Donald's Birthday which is today.  Happy Birthday Uncle Donald!!   (Not that he views my blog, but I had to say it.)  :-)

I love this card!!!!!  Doesn't have any bling, but it really doesn't need it.  The new In Colors are perfect for this stamp set.  Isn't the  Chevron embossing folder cool?  It's a favorite of mine.

Stamp Set:  Clockworks
Ink:  Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Midnight Muse
Extras:  Chevron Embossing Folder

Clockworks Thank You

Hello!  Well my son's graduation party went well and now it's time for those thank you notes!  Kyle designed these himself using the new Clockworks stamp set.  As you can tell he kept them very clean and simple.
I used the Note Cards & Envelopes which are the perfect size for thank you notes.  These are two of the new in colors, Gumball Green and Midnight Muse.  I'm loving them both.

Stamp Set:  Clockworks, Wacky Wishes
Ink:  Gumball Green, Midnight Muse

Thanks for stopping by today!  Tomorrow I'll show you what I did with the Clockworks set.

Father's Day Nature Walk

Hello!  Today's card is a Father's Day card using the Nature Walk stamp set.  I cased this from Dawn Olchefske, who has a great tutorial on her blog showing how to do this double embossing.  I love how this card turned out, simple yet elegant.

All of the stamping is done first, then you run it through your Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  Next you run it through the Big Shot again using one of the Designer Frames folders, but you omit the bottom plate and place a piece of chipboard cut out in the shape of the Designer Frame between the folder and the top plate.  It sounds complicated but if you go and watch Dawn's video you'll see how easy it is!

Stamp Set:  Nature Walk
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Paper:  Midnight Muse, Vanilla
Extras:  Big Shot, Designer Frames Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Linen Thread

I may be taking a short break from my blog, we are having my son's graduation party this weekend and I probably won't have time to post anything.  I do have an order coming so next week I can post some things made with the new stamp sets I've order!  I can't wait.

Red, White & Blue

Hi!  I made today's card for a contest my upline is having for all of her downlines.  I really had a hard time coming up with something, but when I finally figured out what I wanted to do I really liked it.

It doesn't really show up, but I used the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate to add texture to my vase (which is a 1 3/4" circle with the bottom trimmed off.

Stamp Sets:  Field Flowers, Mixed Bunch
Ink:  Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Paper:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red
Punches:  Blossoms, 1 3/4" Circle, Scallop Trim Border, Modern Label

More Notebooks

Hello!  Things are still a little busy around my house.  We are having my son's graduation party this weekend so I haven't had much time to stamp at all.  I did manage to make a few gifts for coworkers though.  My favorite thing to give are these 5 x8 notebooks.  I use mine all the time, so I'm hoping they'll like theirs!  My plan is to write a short note on the first page instead of making a card.
For this one I used the Language of Friendship stamp set.

I love this flower, I used Pumpkin Pie and Vanilla card stock with the Blossom and Boho Blossoms punches to make.

Here's a closer look.

I used the sale-a-bration set Fresh Vintage to make this notebook.

This flower was made using the Full Heart Die.  I folded each punched heart in half and glued them onto a 1 3/4" circle.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats Grad!

Hello!  Today is a very special day in our son, Kyle, is graduating from high school!!!  Congratulations Kyle!!!  He has worked very hard and we are so proud of him.

Not only is Kyle graduating this year, three of my cousins have sons graduating too.  I wanted to make a special card for all of these wonderful young men and this is what I came up with...
I used my Cricut to make the "2012" numbers.  I had an old Sizzix graduation die that I used for the cap that fits the  owl punch (love this little guy) from Stampin' Up! perfectly!  I dyed some white Baker's Twine with  the Real Red ink refill and some rubbing alcohol to make the tassel.
Unfortunately I did not have a Stampin' Up! graduation stamp set to use, although in the new catalog they have a wonderful new set called Pure Gumption.  Maybe I'll have to pick that one up to use for Kyle's graduation from college!

Stamp Sets:  More Great Greetings, Congrats (both retired)
Ink:  Real Red, Lovely Lilac (retired)
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Lovely Lilac (retired)
Punch:  Owl Builder
Extras:  Baker's Twine, Cricut, Sizzix Graduation Die
