Happy Birthday Casey

Image
Hello!  This card was made for my niece Casey for her birthday.  When I first saw the Swallowtail stamp I thought, this is nice but I'm not going to get it.  Well, after seeing so many beautiful cards made with it on Stampin' Connection (the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site where we all share our ideas) I knew I'd give in.  After making this card I am happy that I did!
I heat embossed the butterfly with black embossing powder and my heat tool.  You can't see it here, but the black is raised and shinny. I then used my Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy and Tempting Turquoise watercolor crayons and a blender pen to color it in.  I embossed the Night of Navy card stock layer using my Big Shot and the Framed Tulips folder.
To stamp on the inside I inked the Swallowtail with Elegant Eggplant in and stamped off once giving the butterfly a softer look.  I know I say this all the time, but I really, really love this card.  The photos really don't do it justice.

Bloomin' 3 x 3 Note Card

Image
Hi!  Today's card is a 3 x 3 thank you card that I made for one of my customers.  I love the way it turned out! I could have added some bling to dress it up a bit, but I really like the simplicity of it.  Sometimes less is more!  I've been trying to use things I haven't worked with lately and the Designer Frames Embossing Folder is one I haven't touched in quite awhile.  It was perfect for this note card.  I'm not really a butterfly gal, but I just can't stop using the Bloomin' Marvelous butterfly and coordinating Bitty Butterfly punch!!!
Supplies Stamp Set:  Bloomin' Marvelous (2013 sale-a-bration) Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green Paper:  Whisper White, Summber Starfruit Punch:  Bitty Butterfly Extras:  Big Shot, Designer Frames Folder
Thanks so much for stopping by and happy stamping!

Embossed Birthday

Image
Hello!  Today's card is one that I started making not knowing how it would turn out.  I just started putting things together and one thing led to another.   I embossed the Calypso Coral card base first with the Vintage Wallpaper folder and my Big Shot.  Then I used one of the Adorning Accents Edgelits on the Lucky Limeade layer.  The DSP is from the Tea For Two pack in the 2013 Spring Mini.
I really wanted to use one of the Flourish Designer Frames that I bought in the fall and hadn't used!  The Four Frames image under the frame was inked with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade markers.    The Birthday Wishes was stamped onto vellum with Lucky Limeade ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  After stamping I punched out both pieces with the Decorative Label punch and applied a little bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the edges to hold it onto the frame. The frame was then attached to the card using two 1/8" Mini Brads.

Feeling Sentimental

Image
Hello!  I thought it was time for a masculine card!  Here's another stamp set from the sale-a-bration flyer...Feeling Sentimental.
I stamped each of the images on a 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Next, I used Snail adhesive to attach them to a 3 1/2" x 5" piece of Early Espresso card stock.  Last, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing folder.  Inside it says...Happy Birthday.  I not only love the simplicity of this card, but the texture as well.

Supplies
Stamp Sets:  Wacky Wishes, Feeling Sentimental
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Ink:  Early Espresso
Extras:  Big Shot, Square Lattice folder

Belated Birthday

Image
Hello!  Usually I like to post birthday cards for family and friends on their birthdays and yesterday I completely forgot to post my sister-in-law's card.  So, happy belated birthday Louise!  I am not quite as old as her, but obviously my brain doesn't work as well!  lol
Louise is one in a million so I chose the that stamp set for the sentiment!
The Bloomin Marvelous stamp set from the sale-a-bration flyer can be yours free with a $50.00 purchase.  I just love how soft and delicate this set is.  The best part is that the butterfly coordinates with the new Bitty Butterfly punch, you can find it in the 2013 Spring Mini.

Everything Eleanor

Image
Hello!  I love, love, love today's card that I made for my Aunt Judy.  It was inspired by a card I saw on Stampin' Connection made by Elizabeth Gross. The Crumb Cake card base was embossed with the Framed Tulips Folder.  I stamp the larger Rich Razzleberry flower on Very Vanilla and then cut it out and mounted it with a couple of Dimensionals.  The edges of the Very Vanilla were sponged with both Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake.  This was an accident...you'd think by now I'd remember to close my stamp pads when I was done with them.  I accidentally dabbed the sponge onto the Razzleberry pad instead of the Crumb Cake when I went to add more ink to the edges.
The tickets were stamped with the That's the Ticket stamp set and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder punch.Supplies Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, That's the Ticket Paper:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla Ink:  Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive Punch:  Ticket Duo Builder Extras:  Big Shot, Framed Tuli…

Hello!  I made this card for a staff member who left our school for another job.  I thought the Storytime DSP was very fitting.  :)  I cased this from a Stampin' Success magazine with a few changes.  I like the little birds I stamped on the front of the envelope!

Center Step Valentine

Image
Hi!  I love everything about today's card!  I don't know why I don't use this fold more often, the cards always turn out so nice.    The little hearts on the bottom were punched with the Small Heart Punch.  This punch is just the right size to add a little something to small areas.
The stamped heart is mounted onto the Hearts a Flutter Pool Party Heart with Dimensionals.  I love this More Amore DSP.

Supplies
Stamp Set:  Happy Valentine's Day, Hearts a Flutter
Paper:  Real Red, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Amore DSP
Ink:  Real Red
Punches:  Full Heart, Small Hearts
Extras:  Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter Framelit

Unforgettable Henry

Image
Hi!  This is the Valentine I made for my son.  He told me a couple of weeks ago that he was too old to get a Valentine from his parents.  Well, I thought that was just crazy!  I mean really, who tells their stamping mom not to make them a card!! I told him he was getting one anyway, but I did promise not to make it too mushy.  Henry came out a little on the "cute" side, but at least I didn't add a ton of hearts, ribbon and lace!!  lol   I tried stamping his little hat in many different colors and then just decided to go with the Basic Gray one.  It's hard to see, but the hat, hearts and sentiment are all mounted with Dimensionals.

Supplies
Stamp Set:  Henry Says
Ink:  Real Red, Basic Gray
Paper:  More Amore DSP, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Basic Gray
Punches:  Large Oval, Scallop Oval
Extras:  Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder

Thanks a lot for stopping by today!

Valentine Treat

Image
Hello!  These little M & M treat holders were so much fun and easy to make.  I punched out the "happy valentine's day" stamp with my Full Heart punch and layered it on top of the Hearts a Flutter stamped and die cut heart. I love these 1" x 8" cello bags from Stampin' Up!  You can fill them with candy pieces, licorice, pretzel rods (dipped in chocolate of course!) and much more.  I tied the hearts to the bags with a piece of White Baker's Twine.
Supplies: Stamp:  Happy Valentine's Day (special single stamp available Jan. 2013 only), Hearts a Flutter Ink:  Real Red, Melon Mambo Paper:  Pool Party, Whisper White, Melon Mambo Punch:  Full Heart Extras:  Big Shot, Heart's a Flutter Framelit, White Baker's Twine
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Valentine Mini Milk Carton

Image
Hi!  I really like the project I have to show you today.  The possibilities for filling it are endless, dark chocolate would probably be my choice!  I used the Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die and my Big Shot to make this cute "Love" carton.
I kept my embellishments pretty simple, but again the possibilities are endless.  The Pool Party Heart was cut with the Hearts a Flutter Framelit Die then ran back through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Affection Collection
Paper:  More Amore DSP, Real Red, Pool Party, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Real Red
Extras:  Big Shot, Typeset Alphabet Die, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Square Lattice Embossing Folder,
Pool Party Ribbon, Pearl & Rhinestone Basic Jewels, White Baker's Twine (dyed with
             Primrose Ink)

Valentine Lollipop Holder

Image
Hello!  I love this lollipop holder that I saw on Dawn Olchefske's blog and couldn't wait to make one. I used the Petal Cone die to make the holder.   Cut one piece, fold it and use sticky strip to adhere it closed.  The Real Red scalloped semicircle was cut using the die too.  I did use a tad of Snail Adhesive to hold the flap down.
Supplies: Stamp Set:  That's the Ticket Paper:  Real Red, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Amore DSP Ink:  Real Red Punch:  Ticket Duo Builder Extras:  Big Shot, Petal Cone Die, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons,                White Bakers Twine (dyed with rubbing alcohol and Primrose Ink)
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Pinwheel Thank You

Image
Hi!  Today's post is a thank you card I made for one of my students.  I love these little pinwheels!  They just make me happy for some reason...maybe it's remembering them from my childhood. It didn't show up well in the photo, but I used the Borders Scoring Plate on the bottom of the card.  It really adds a lot, and I like the versatility of being able to score where ever I want on my card.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  One in a Million
Paper:  Whisper White, Sycamore Street DSP (2013 Sale-A-Bation)
Ink:  Tangerine Tango
Extras:  Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Borders Scoring Plate, Pinwheel Sizzlits Die, Mini Brad

Nature Walk Watercolor

Image
Hello!  I've never been good at using the Aqua Painter, but have seen so many beautiful watercolor cards that I decided to try again.  This time I was pretty pleased!   I stamped the images with Jet Black Stazon ink on Stampin' Up!'s watercolor paper, then I used the Aqua Painter with Not Quite Navy Ink for the background and last I colored the images themselves.   So, I was going for a collage look, but as you can see it didn't work at all...so I added the bee to cover up a pretty big bare spot!  I really like how this card turned out, especially all the textures.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Nature Walk
Paper:  Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Watercolor
Ink:  Jet Black Stazon and various others
Punches:  1 1/4" & 1 3/8"
Extras:  Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Thanks for visiting today!

Valentine Banner

Image
Hi!  I've seen so many cute Valentine banners, so I just had to make one too.
I used two pieces of card stock, one measure 3" x 9" and the second one was 3" x 9 1/2".  I scored each every three inches.  The longer one will have a 1/2" flap so you can glue it to the back of the first piece.  The DSP/card stock squares measure 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".
The ribbon and button are from the Sale-A-Bration Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack.
I used my Big Shot and the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies to cut out the letters.   The Hearts a Flutter Framelits was used for some of the hearts, for the rest I used punches.
Supplies Stamps:  Happy Valentine's Day, Hearts a Flutter, Delightful Dozen Paper:  Real Red, More Amore DSP, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Pool Party, Primrose Petals Ink:  Real Red, Pool Party (marker), Basic Gray Punches:  Full Heart, Small Heart Extras:  Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Pearl and Rhinestone Basic Jewels
