Happy New Year 2016

Image
Hello!  I wasn't going to join today's challenge, but then I decided to make a little 2016 banner in these colors and thought, why not share.  It's not much, but I was really happy with it!
The banner was made with Basic Black card stock and Silver & Gold Glimmer Paper.  My Big Shot came in handy too!  I used the new Large Numbers Framelits (2016 Occasions Catalog) and the Banners Framelits Dies.  I added some Metallic Foil doilies between the banner pieces, they sure added a lot!  Here's a close up showing you how sparkly the Glimmer paper is.
Lets take a look at what my fellow STARS have done with these colors:RobynMiriamDawnJudy

Work of Art Thank You

Image
Hello!  I've seen cards like this one all over the internet, and thought it was so cute that I decided to make it my "thank you" card for school this year.
Isn't it cute?  It was made using the Work of Art stamp set. That's all I have for today.  I've been working on my October and December Paper  Pumpkin kits the last couple of days.  I'll try and get the photo's taken so I have something to post!  January is a big month for family birthdays (I have ideas, but haven't started stamping yet) so you'll be seeing those too.

Merry Christmas!

Image
Hi!  I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  I thought I would post my Mom's Christmas cards today since they are so pretty.  This set came out later last fall (2014) and we had already ordered the set she was going to use, so we saved this one for this year's cards.
I love the rich colors - we used the retired Blendabilities markers.
This is the last of my cards that I have to share this year.  I'd seen this idea many times using the Peaceful Pines stamp set and decided to give it a try.  Most people had 3 trees on theirs, but I liked the way you can see the inside verse through the trees!  Gotta be different! LOL
Thank you so much for stopping by.  May you all have a peaceful holiday.

Snow Place Mini Treat Bags

Image
Hi!  Today I am sharing some of the gift card holders I made.  I love this striped DSP!
Here's a couple more.  All you have to do is pull on the tab and the gift card slides out.

This penguin is seriously cute! I was happy to hear that this set will be carried over next year!

More Snow Place

Image
Hello!  I thought I would share a couple more cards made with the Snow Place stamp set.
You cannot tell in this photo, but I stamped the Happy Scenes image onto Shimmery White card stock - I love the shimmer.  I water colored with ink and a Aqua Painter.
I used my 2-Way Glue Pen and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to add sparkle to this card.

Supplies
Stamp Sets: Snow Place, Happy Scenes
Paper:  Garden Green, Shimmery White, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink:  Basic Black, Real Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Pool Party

That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by.

Hot Chocolate Pillow Box

Image
Hello!  I absolutely love the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies from the Holiday Catalog and was very disappointed that it will not be carried over next year.  This is the perfect size to hold many things.  I've made the first one to hold a packet of hot chocolate (and there is plenty of room for a gift card too!).
This jolly snowman it holding a chocolate covered peppermint stick.  He is from the Snow Place stamp set and was cut out using the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits Dies. (Yikes, I just noticed that I didn't color his nose!) The second one is going to be holding some cash for its recipient :)!
I have had a blast making poinsettias with the Reason for the Season stamp set and the coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch.

That's all for today!  Thanks for stopping by.

Perfect Pines Mini Treat Bag

Image
Hello!  I made this Mini Treat Bag using just the narrow piece from the die.  I love how these chocolate dipped candy canes fit in there perfectly!
After using the Perfect Pines Die to cut out the tree I ran it back through my Big Shot in a embossing folder (retired).  You can watch this Stamping Up! video to see how I made it.

DSC#161 Reason for the Season Cup

Image
Hello!  Looks like this will be our last Christmas challenge for the year.  I really had fun making this project.  There's a gift card tucked inside of the coffee cup and the poinsettia gift tag can be used as  an ornament!
I used the Season of Cheer DSP to decorate the band and lid.  Real Red, Garden Green and Hello Honey card stock was used for the flower.  I love making these!!!  Here's a peak from the top. This is one idea I had that turned out even better than I hoped...love it when that happens.
Take some time and check out what my fellow STARS have been up to this week:SharonJudyMiriamRobynDawnDebbie

Poinsettia Music Card

Image
Hello.  When I first saw the Reason for the Season stamp set and coordinating Festive Flower Builder Punch I thought - that's nice, but I'm not buying it.  Well, you know how that goes...after seeing so many beautiful things made with it I just had to order it too.  Here's what I made.

I love this page from the Home for Christmas DSP too.  Did you notice I used a little ribbon on my card?  LOL  (I somehow got away from using embellishments again. Yikes, I have so many too. I just keeping buying them and then I don't use them.)  I think this might be my favorite of all the Christmas cards I made this year.  Hmmm, I just thought, this would make an awesome ornament too!

Supplies
Stamp Set:  Reason for the Season
Paper:  Home for Christmas DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow
Ink:  Mossy Meadow
Punch:  Festive Flower Builder Punch

Thanks for stopping by!  Get stamping those Christmas cards!

DSC#159 Happy Scenes Deer

Image
Hi!  Well, I did it, I made a card for today's great color challenge!
I've seen a few people cut out these deer from the Home for Christmas DSP and I just had to give it a try.  I really like this card and can't wait to mail it to someone, hopefully it will brighten their day as much as it has mine.  I even gave watercoloring on the Shimmery White Card Stock a try!

Home for Christmas Hearth

Image
Hello!  Sorry I have not been posting.  Like the rest of you I have been busy with life and trying to get my Christmas cards done.  Never, ever, have I not had my cards done by now!  Here's one I made in October.
I used the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies along with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder to decorate the front of the card base.  Looking into the window you can see a Christmas tree that I fussy cut out from the Home for Christmas DSP.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Not sure I will be able to get a card made from tomorrow's DOstamperSTARS blog hop, but I will give it a try!
